Scored two free saws yesterday. One is a Homelite Super E-Z the other is a Poulan 306A.Got them both running last night. Can anyone tell me how old these saws are, engine size? Thanks Jary

Can't speak for the Poulan, but the Super EZ is a 2.5 cu inch displacement (~41 cc). Opinions vary, of course, but I'm up to 2 and a half Super EZ's now and really do the bulk of my cutting with them. Parts are getting hard to come by, though, as they've been discontinued for a couple decades, now.

306a

The scuttlebutt is that the 306A was the saw used in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A strong saw in its day. Provided your back is in good shape (I think they're fairly heavy), you'll cut a lot of firewood with that saw. Regarding the EZ, I've heard lots of good things about them, typical of old Homelites (tough, reliable, easy to mess with). I'd say you scored!

Thanks guys, your right on the lack of anti vibe and the weight. These are not my (primary) saws. But will make good back up in the woods.

Gotta love those "old" all metal saws!

@ ray - thanks for the link to the chainsaw collector's corner; I will be spending much time there!
