I have a question about the bar on this saw (The Poulan Pro 260). The factory bar looks real flimsy. I would like to replace it with something more substantial. Anyone have any recommendations (other than getting a Husky or a Stihl)? Thanks, Roger.

Does this saw have an Intenz bar with integral tensioner?
That`s a very limiting factor.

gotta disaggee here tree buddy..
they sell that thing with an 18 inch bar [at lowes]go to the husk bars up the isle a bit.. get a husk 16 in .. i would say put 95vp on it ,but i know its 3/8.
if it was me id put a 14 on it.. but i just like to power my chain thru with out waiting on the saw to catch up.
in anycase it aint a bad saw at 40 or 42cc. the lowes dn here got it labeled both ways. saw says 42cc the box says 40cc.:)

I guess I can just get a chain for it and give it a go. If it's inadequate for what I'm doing, there's always the 066 with the 20" bar! Chances are I'll just use it for limbing and very small stuff. Later, Roger.

All the more true since the saw was free. My friend said it showed up on Halloween night. Probably a prop for some kid's costume. They tried to call the cops, but seems they weren't interested in a lost chainsaw. Anyway, my friend said it wouldn't start. When I got it, I turned the on/off switch on, pulled the choke out, an primed it a couple times. Fired on the third pull. Can't complain about that!
