My buddy really wants to go with the 4000 pulley. So if i get the 4000 flywheel it will need no adjustments? just pull the 3400 flywheel off and install the 4000 flywheel?

IMO yes. I never did it backwards of putting 4000 on 3400. But did have 4000 that with 3400 flywheel and 3400 pulley recoil set up. Nothing was needed and was direct swaps.

There is also a husky pulley that can be made to work. Thinking it was the 272 aftermarket pulleys. But dont recall which flywheel it took to do so.

Well a friend of mine, Tony Eddie Stankard, came up with a fix for the NLA 3700 and 4000 starter pulley, seems to work well.

As stated off with the old and on with the old but better. Most of mine are done.
