Just found an old Pouland micro xxv in a dumpster. I picked the saw apart, cleaned it, changed the fuelline and reassembled. But I have no owners manual for it, and wonderd if anyone could tell me how to adjust it properly. The carb has three screws, one idle direct on trottle, one with a blue spring (the lowermost) and one with a clean spring.

Welcome-

Check around for a Poulan website and see if you can download the manual.

If it is setup like my Husky, and this sort of surprises me because I didn't think you could adjust Poulan carbs, there is (1) low speed carb needle, (2) high speed carb needle, and (3)an idle chain adjustment needle to keep the chain from turning at idle speed.

If you carefully turn each a half-turn you can probably deduce which does what. As far as tuning the saw there are many threads and websites about setting one up. It is best to use factory specs and go from there.

I'm sorry I can't give you specifics but with a little digging I think you can find the instructions for this saw. Good luck! Let me know how you do.

upper screw is high speed adj, lower screw low adj., one turn out for both, fine tune from there. (older poulans were adjustable with a screw driver, no special tool needed.)

Update

The saw is now sort of running. But it still wont go to full speed and run clean, and i cannot get it to run at idle without turning the chain. Would it run better on leaded than unleaded fuel? Runs on RON95 unleaded now.

I have searced for a manual several places but found none.

If it has a reed valve make sure that it is sealing properly. The old Super 25s I used to run would get a piece of bark or saw chip in the reed vale from time to time and no amount of carb adjustment would make them run right.

Clean the carb if you cant get it adjusted to run properly, or maybe you have to change the carb. I had to do that on the JOBU that I have

Ok. You changed the fuel line. Did you get the line length right in the tank? if too long, It will curl up and suck air. Check the muffler for carbon buildup blocking ports. Change spark plug. Check clutch for a broken spring. Does the chain move when you are pulling the starter? You can check reed valve alignment by taking the 3 phillips head and rear flat screws holding the rear handle on, careful of the gasket, and flip it over .
