I dont do this yet but I was looking at getting a big pvc pipe with end caps (you could make it lockable with a bit of work). You know the type that was sold out in Aussie for months when the new firearms laws came into effect. You could probably get your usual pole pruners in there to.

I wonder if they make adaption pieces to go from one size pipe into a smaller one if you wanted to make a more fitted version.

Power pruners are a tough one to stow, mine have a circular saw blade attachment that like to chew on everything it finds.
One company I used to contract to had one side of there deck sides oversized and hollow with a locking door at the back to fit gear in. Very cool but expensive to do. I have also seen chip boxes that are raised in the back of a tipping truck so there is space between the trucks deck and the chip box floor. to access it you just had to drop one of the sides. Was secure and not noticable until the sides came down and you could get lots of gear under there.

The stihl version breaks down into about 4' sections. Right now mine gets broken down and leaned up against the back corner of the man cab. The weight of the hanging lowering lines keeps it there. Going to have hooks installed above the seat in the man cab to hold the PP and long hedgers.

A friend has a chip truck with a wood box. He has hooks screwed into the outside that he'll carry his on when needed.

I guess I have it made. The power pruner fits nicely in the ladder compartment side of the chip box along next to the ladder. Nice, out of the way, and clean.

Broken down into a seperate compartment in the main boxes works well, with a scabbard on the dangerous end.

i havent got a holder/bag/compartment .for my ht 75 as there so robust i dont think they need one,i just chuck it in the back of the truck..p.s i dropped mine 25ft out of a tree no damage ;)

I don't like these things used for tree work.....

Maybe on removals, but not for pruning. Ya have a hard enough time make a collar cut with a top-handled saw, how are you going to do it from the ground? And the safety topic.....having a spinning chain up in the air like that? Totally contradicts the rule of not cutting with a chainsaw above your head!

We don't have any power pruners, but we have dozens of pole saws and some pole pruners. Maybe for takedowns, but I still can't get past the safety risk.

One is required in the states, one is optional.

Hey Nick
Am I reading right!
Your worried about safety only when you on the ground?
You said yourself that it is hard to make a collar cut with a top handle so you are runnin saws aloft with out chainsaw pants!
You should re think your safety issues
Be Carefull Brother!!!!!!!!
If used properly and the person using it is well trained it is one of the best inventions to come along in years
I store mine in the ladder box.

If you are writing this post the way I am recieving it you better re think some issues
I kid you not you are heading for some hurtin if you only use standards set forth by governing bodies and not your own common sence as well

That's funny Nick but you are missing the point!
I was trying to make you realize the importance of chainsaw pants in the tree!
Your ignorance of this issue is clear!
I'm not mad just concerned take out of what you may:)

If it were up to me, I wouldn't wear chainsaw pants at all. But since I have to wear them on the ground, I will.

This is got to be a joke!
Nick are you really serious or are you yankin my chain?
You are always so concerned about litigation and doing what is right.
How can you not be concerned about the damage caused by a chainsaw?
I know you don't think you are so good with a saw that it will never get you!
Please tell me that is not it?
I really am interested in why you made such a statment!
