I am new to this site, I have been looking around the site and have found a lot of interesting information. I have been looking into small loaders as a way to move wood and also do some small projects. The power trac 2445 seems to be a nice machine, I was wondering if anyone has one and how they like it. Fairly cheep compared to other brands. Thanks

Just returned from Virginia in Dec 02 and purchased a Power trac.

I have had skidsteer (still do) but I cannot wait to get rid of it.
If most of your work is in open areas or woods perhaps skidsteer will work for you.

Most of my work is suburbia, front and back yards. Could not use skidsteer for it was too heavy and yard had to be extremely dry. Even then, turns were destructive.

Have thought long and hard as to what to buy and almost decided on the Dingo thingy. Spoke with a couple of Dunlap's buddies and confirmed they also slide even though they were lighter.

Have researched power trac for about a year now and am very happy with purchase. I bought the 1430 diesel...thought the other models' center of gravity too high.

Even though I have only used the machine a few times this year, it is fantastic. It is small, half the weight of the skidsteer, lifts almost as much, wide turf tires, and articulted steering. Also fun to drive.

I am glad I did not buy the Dingo, or Boxer or other mini-skidsteer. The power trac seems to sit somewhere between the two .

Just what the doctor ordered. Priced not too bad either.

Just a few thoughts..

Where are all these threads about chippers and loaders coming from? I thought this was the climber's forum, but it is obviously the 'heavy equipment' forum. Does anyone know where the climber's forum went to?
