wearing chaps can be very dangerous unless you always and i mean always refuse to run the saw without them.

This is the reason i wont use them. most people i have seen that wear them have cuts in them , this makes them take for granted how carelessly they used the saw.

I have been cutting a longtime and i have never cut myself because the Lord looks out for me and i have a respect for the damage that can happen if i use it carelessly.

If you cannot run the saw safely then put it down or wear chaps.

i can just see me getting the chaps and getting used to them , when i just have to make a quick cut so i dont put them on and i stupidly cut my leg bacause i am used to having chaps on.

If you work very slowly, yes you can probably be safe without chaps. If you have to make a whole lot of cuts, and move quickly from cut to cut, then the margin of error (eg, the gap between the saw and your leg) has got to come down.

Also, if you are standing well back from the bar you probably are standing in line with the cut. If the saw kicks, it's toward your head and neck.

Anyone (chaps or no chaps) can be dangerous with a saw.

If you are using safe techniques it is just not possible to be less safe wearing the protective gear.

Around here, I don't see chaps with cuts. In fact I can only remember seeing one cut pair. I figure this is because (1) the operators I see are trained and careful, and (2) if they cut their chaps everyone is going to think "what a d**khead" so they throw them out and get a new pair without telling anyone.

divine intervention-no blood

Space, I was wondering that as well, I don't believe so I wear chaps, if he really and truly believes the lord will protect him then he doesn't need to wear chaps now, does he?
