Hello

I currently run a non-pressurized Classic Centeral Boiler.

Has anyone pressurized a non-pressurised boiler? I haven’t had good luck with my plate to plate exchanger. I have a 1914 “four square” house with original radiators. I’m only running 20 or so PSI. I thought about installing a pressure relief valve to pop at around 25 PSI. I could then run my outdoor boiler directly into my Peerless Panicle boiler. I’m sure some will say this is illegal and unsafe… thoughts??

Thanks

Jonathan

I dont know about illegal but your proposing to mess with something that will mame or kill, DONT DO IT.

Even a few psi, spread out over a great area (i.e. the inside of a boiler), can mean a ton of energy. If it were mine, I wouldn't even think of pressurizing it.

Treeco and all. Thanks for the words of caution and the great idea of using the 3rd floor as a pressure vent. I would have close supervision if I go forward with this. I have a friend who is a full time boiler guy. I will keep you posted if I move forward.

Thanks Jonathan

exchanger to small or you have air in the system...lower your psi to 12...DO NOT PRESSURIZE THAT CENTRAL BOILER YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!

go about 60,000 btu over with your plate exchanger than your main heat boiler in the house..it will make up for when the temp. drops off on the wood boiler firin' up...
