Hi all. Looking to get some feed back on a fair price to charge my customers (not getting to mathematicle) for offering to top soil and seed stump hole I've ground for them. Nothing fancy, pickup truck and a wheel barrow. All my customers are within a 15 mile radius of where I have a few yards of lume. I'm located in CT. I don't want to hurt anybody nor bust my _ss for $5.00. What'ya think...

I guess the first question would be what you you typically charge for a stump? Use a hypothetical example of a 36" oak stump in the front yard with no access difficulties, and how deep do you normally remove the stump, do you leave all grindings, or remove the excess to level out? What's the soil cost you? do you have helper, or is it all you? a little more info would help.

more info: I charge $150 for 36" oak. Grind and rake the chips back over the hole. No crew. Me, a spade and a wheel barrow.

I normally go about 6" below the rest of the lawn. I have a few yards of top soil left over from some previous work.

I'd figure at least double it. First you've got to clear the hole, then fill it in, then load all the grindings into the truck......then empty the truck, you've got a P/U not a dump, right? maybe even 1.5 times the price, so you've got something left over for your chiropractor. one quick hint, Silage forks are great for moving lots of grindings.
