That's what I call home:biggrinbounce2:

I've never got the tanks back to "orginal". That generation of nylon yellowed real quick.

As soon as you get it real dirty you won't notice anyhow :D

Tested an an 084 I just fixed up for a guy today - cut off a 24 inch alder. .404 skip square ground chain - sure threw a lot of big saw "dust"...:biggrinbounce2:

I ran that saw myself at Andy's. I liked the grunt and the motor actually seemed smoother in the cut than my 066 although that is just a quick first impression.

It pulled out big chips for sure and I had to fight down the urge to want to buy it.

Howdy Freakingstang,

Looks real good, well done. I also have a cat that looks like that. Did you run her yet?

Nice job on the 084 Steve. Too bad the plastic doesn't claen up as easily.

I remember some stuff that was available for restoring the plastic on dirtbikes..........dunno if it would work here!

It's called Plastic Renew. It is little more than a varnish. You sand the plastic down with increasingly fine grades and finishing with fine steel wool then apply coats of the product. It gives an unusually shiny finish that looks like it has been, oddly enough, varnished. To clean it,you must use nothing more harsh than mild dish soap-even Dawn will eat it off, leaving you with a dull sanded finish.Being porous, plastic allows gas fumes to escape through it leaving that colour in the plastic on a natural tank-on dirt bikes anyway. It's the same reason why a decal on a dirt bike tank will bubble after the tank is a couple years old.

BTW,saws look amazing:rockn:

I always bake it... 225f for about 30 minutes... in a convection oven - not radient heat, or a month in the green house... Once it's hard and really dry, it's reasonably gas resistant.

When I did my muffler mod, after painting with black paint that is good for up to 1000 degrees, I would then put that part, or any painted part for that matter, into my gas grill for about 45 mins. Placed over a sheet of tin foil.
So far, so good.

For mufflers I do 450F for an hour, but I used to just hang them about an inch from the front of the wood stove front! Lot's of wifely complaints though..

It's still here :D

You're just lucky I didn't bring out the 088! ;)
