What I have here is a Makita 520 I came across this from my neighbor. He's in his 80's and ran straight gas in it. It has comperession but after inspection from the Exhaust opening it has damage. This saw wasn't used much and stil sport's it original bar and chain. Make an offer I can't refuse. PLease Pm me since I don't want any snipers hitting on it.

Saw is a DOLMAR 111N-PS520.
52cc, w/ NikaSil cylinder

Today would be a PS540
54cc.

Parts easily availble.

Guys, Mark got back to me with a VERY reasonable price. Thanks Mark, look forward to getting this one back in working order.

Saw Man, Can this saw take the piston/cylinder off a 540?

I got the saw and it's in real good shape other than the damage from straight gas. Mark passed this saw on to me for SHIPPING only. Thank you VERY MUCH Mark.

BTW, I need a piston and cylinder for a Dolmar/Makita 540 (why not get the 2cc bump in displacement if I can?)

Mark, Got the saw together for $62.95. I tried like h@ll to get parts from my local Makita guy but he must not need money. I found a brand new piston and cylinder on e-bay priced right. Parts were at my door today when I got home so I screwed the saw together a.s.ap. It's a bit late to run it now so I'll report back tomorrow. Thanks again for a great deal.

I'm glad you saw that auction. I saw it, wrote you a PM about it, then got sidetracked, when I got back the auction was closed and I realized I never hit the send button. Funny the way things work out.

Well, I got the little bugger going today. Flooded it first attempt because I missed the "pop" and kept the enrichment on too long. I don't have a manual for it so I set it to 12,500 rpms sounds ok there. I need a new loop of chain for it to give it a workout in some wood.

(Just look for the house with the front yard that used to have a fair-sized honeylocust.)

Paul that's great that you got the blue club going. All it need now is a porting job. Have fun.
