Looks like being frozen may have been all that was keeping some of those together.
I would tentative suggest you need to work on your felling cuts, particularly not overcutting the notch or the back cut. As mentioned above, you're playing with fire with these trees... so best not to give em any more reason for things to "go sideways"

Good decision on stopping while you are ahead
Here it looks like you've taken the upper cut past the lower cut when making your notch... looking again I think the shadows are just making it look worse than it is.
In these you can see you've taken the back cut far closer to the notch (on one side particularly) & cut a lot more of the holding wood than should be necessary... especially on an already compromised tree. Based on the type of tree & condition of the wood a slightly larger notch may have been beneficial too.
I can't see anything resembling directional cuts here, or even tell where cutting started or finished... given it's state I think you were lucky this one came down without incident.
