The old saying "buyer beware" really needs to be highlighted when buying on ebay these days. There are some rotten ones out there

This chainsaw ripoff stuff is small potatoes (altho it still hurts). A totally FAKE 1908 Harley-Davidson went for $16,000 on eBay motors! there was nothing on it from 1908 or even close -- or hardly anything made by Harley-Davidson on it.

I restrict my eBay purchases to small stuff like repair manuals, etc.

That said, I just bought one of those Solo 690 supposed "refurb" jobs online...
