Awhile back oldirty was looking for a better way to hang his micropulley for use as a slack tender. My camera was broken so I haven't been able to post this untill now. This should be fairly easy for you guys to follow if you are already using a split-tail system.

first pic is of the pulley with a screw link and a short length of acessory cord tied with a double fishermans to create a mini prussic. assuming you already have the pulley this set up should cost you about $1.50 to make.

second pic is of it in action as a regular slack tender, difference is the pulley is right below the knot, no "slop" in the system.

third pic is of a set up like the "anchorbridge". the friction hitch is moved up by putting a websling between the saddle and the hitch. slide the prussic/pulley up and you can hand over hand the falling end of your climbing line without have to stop to tend the slack.

Is that 8mm accessory cord attached to your pulley?? If so where do you buy yours? Your set up looks nice never thought of doing it that way,I just use a dog snap connecting my micro to my carabiner..

its 2.75mm accessory cord with a breaking strength of 300lbs. Not that the WLL matters because it is not actually holding any weight.

Sweet set-up.:monkey:amazing what 50cents worth of accessory cord and a dog snap can do!

Donny....this is one slick setup. I have been trying this with the new Hitchclimber pulley. How/what do you think about changing you TIP with this...........it is a little awkward.

I've been messing around with this too. With Donny's rig you'll have to take the spliced eye off the bottom of the biner, pull it through the swivel and then put it over your new TIP. Maybe if you use the larger version of the swivel it will be a little quicker/easier to pull through when you need to. I really like that only one biner is needed for this setup.

It is kind of a pain, I actually use a slightly different version than the one in this pic that uses a mini biner in place of the dogsnap. I take the mini biner off, leave the prussic attached connect the main biner to the bridge before pulling the spliced end through then advance to a new tip.

Basically I am probably using a different method to ascend and this one after I get to the best possible TIP.
