Always tied in at all times. Choose your crotch so you can remove all limbs around you. Then either double crotch keeping your original crotch and then crotch around a stub below you and untie your higher crotch for removal of limb you were orginally crotched into. Use of a landyard can also sometimes when neccesary be substituted for a tie in point just dont put lots of eight on your flipline( depending on whether its a three point prusik or just a 2 point). Not being crotched in leads to death and injuries.

Also try not to twist on your hooks it causes bigger holes and the chance of gaffin out is increased and by all means always tie in i have had a few instances where bein tied in is the only thing that saved me serious injury

Do you mean don't put lots of weight on your flipline? Why not? What is the rating for fliplines? Do you think they can't hold you? And if this is the case, why do you use them-you have to be able to trust your gear.

I only tie in to rappel down, thats it, put lots of wieght on my flipline (scarestrap, lanyard etc.) especially when I push off big tops. I don't have to chose nothing, I just saw off what I want. How come I ain't dead, I mean after thousands of trees?
