What's every one use for quick filling of the bar oil tank without a lot of mess.? I was just given a 23 compact Husqvarna that has a very small bar oil fill hole and a Poulan wild thing that is a tight squeeze to fill. The rest of my Stihl saws aren't a big problem. I'm thinking of using a 1 pint restaurant ketchup bottle and cut the spout short? But as my vision declines I always get some bar oil overflow. I have a Husqvarna oil/gas tank but the spout obscures the hole when I'm trying to fill it.
Any Ideas?

I've gone to spraying the motorcycle mud and dust clear coat on the chainsaw filling port areas and that really helps to keep them clean. The clear coat also works well to keep the allen hex head bolt recess on the Woodmax chipper blade bolts from being plugged with wood dust.. When sprayed on the chipper fly wheel reduces the sap and dust from accumulating

I litre (yes we use metric!) gear oil bottles come with a pull out tube to reach hard to reach/small aperture places- one of them would work refilled with bar oil, when its near overflowing- pinch the tube closed and remove, turn upright and remaining oil will flow back into the bottle, push the tube back home and screw the lid on.

Don't worry. Overfilling bar oil all over the place is "a thing". Damn messy thing.

It happens far less often when I use a litre oil can with a little spout cap on it like the lucas bottle example above.

I poured out of the gallon jug for years. Stupid! Then I grew up and grew a brain. Now for many more years I've been pouring that jug into smaller containers. Rarely do I make a mess now, but it's bar oil after all. It's bred to get all over the place. It's way worse in the cold.

PS. The echo winter stuff I bought is colorless and nothing special and kinda pricy. Had I known it had no color I wouldn't have bought it, and I won't buy any more. Mix oil and bar oil should have color. I mixed the echo stuff with some colored stuff and then I could see it.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I'd thought about using a salad dressing bottle but there's no spout, Saw a lysol toilet bowl container might work. I use the no spill gas cans for my mix but if you don't vent it before use they make a mess... still better than the crummy cheap gas tanks with the "controlled spout you have to push against the port you're pouring into. No Menards around here but I'll go online
