You shoud have heard Riverrat2 trying to say ISSAQUAH    Luckily he has GPS so he didn't have to ask, or he'd be in Alaska by now.

Then there's the Snoqualmie and Skykomish rivers, and 6 others that sound (to Texans) almost the same

You must go to Crystal my favorite for terrain and vertical. Yea its quite around here when Mntgal and I have the saws shut off..That 66 twin pipe makes a little noise:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

I live in Sequim! I love ordering stuff over the phone. I have to say "SEE-kwim" so we're at least on the same page. If I just pronounce it, they try to spell it "Skwim."

What about Seiku or Quillaute? There's two OP locals that alot of people can't get right, but should. But in the end, my last home of AK had more mispronunciations than anywhere-Egegik, Sitkanak, Sitkalidak, Uyak, Uganik, Progromni, etc....

Ok, now I've gone and made myself homesick. I miss Kodiak. :(

Here in BC we've got some good ones too - Coquitlam, Tsawwassen, Ucluelet, Clayoquot Sound, Tulameen, Osoyoos to name a few. but if you start looking into native names for places, you'll find names that you'll have a real hard time getting your tongue around. they look sort of like this:
xct' le;m"xtgs I made that one up, but you wouldn't know it by comparing them.
