I'm going back to Knoxville possibly this weekend.I have someone there asking if I have an hourly rate to climb and get down 8 medium size trees.I know their idea and mine may differ quite a bit on "medium" but I'm trying to come up with a fair rate.I always charge by the job but I try to work with folks if I can.especially since I can't see the job until I get there.

Only problem I have with hourly is I have been know to get stuff down quick on occasion.I don't want to screw myself here but I don't want to milk the clock either.

any advice would be appreciated.

5hundo a day. how much you pull in on your own gigs when all is said and done? if you gonna work your balls off you might as well get paid for it.

thats my rate now. the way i see it is if i am truly going to go for it and have to work harder than i normally do at my current employ then its gotta be worth my time.

same thing with the sidies. not doing anything for shortshort money anymore. it ain't cool.

I usually get $400 a day.

Market here is a little more expensive than east Tennessee.I'll try and get pictures.

I like your numbers.I think I'll go with that as my new rate.especially since I'm insured and sober.

Sight unseen?

Don't even know type of trees? What with people sending pics from cell phone to cell phone these days and all... You might reply "usually climb for somewhere between $25 and $75 per hour depending on degree of difficulty". Then decide when you get there how much you think you are worth. Faster is not worth more money, if you're rippin off gutters and smashin fences however.

In the beginning I felt I deserved more money if I worked harder. Later, I realized that I deserved more money when I worked smarter. Now, I usually get more than I deserve, and 99% of them seem happy to pay it? OK That number is a bit high:hmm3grin2orange:

If it's for a HO and it's all you and your equipment $125 an hour. If it's contracting for another service and they are doing the haul off and ground work a daily rate is negotiable.

If you're doing something where there is a lot of liability you need to at least have your deductible covered. Mine is a thousand bucks.

I gave them Oldirty's price.

They sent a pic tonight.Looks like some easy beanpoles. We'll see where it goes.

I like to do some work while I travel.During the week most of the people I know are at work so I get tired of gun shops and motorcycle dealers.

Hell,I just like what I do for work.
