My forearms burn, my shoulders ache, I feel the urge, that urge to rake.
I cannot stop from dawn till dusk I would rake till I am raking dust. I love the leaves and the little twigs and maple seedlings ( Whirlygigs). What more can I say that hasn't already been said I will rake every day till the day I am dead.

I can not slow, I can not stop, my blower lust gets me hot!
It whines and revs and roars out loud, I am the blow master noisey and proud.
A dust cloud follows everywhere I go, its the leaf pied piper one man show
Show me no broom, I hate to rake, Ill never pick up for anyones sake
Instead my machine disperses all away, to be found by the neighbour on a later day.

ODE to a 66

She belongs in heaven, if there were woods there
My 66 sing to angels as she clears the land bare
She stops for no trunk and forever throws chips
From 18 to 42 bars she bucks and she rips
From morning to night we work hand in hand
Its a love my friends will not understand
A caress with a file, a touch with a scrench
Since I met her my wife now plays from the bench
Shes my only woman now which I will share my bed
Its the whining, non cutting one that now lives in the shed
So tell me nothing of sex, of converstion or hugs
A ported nickel plated cylinder is all I want for jugs
My life is now perfect theres nothing to fix
Give me my air, my trees and my magnum 66

So your raking up Firestone Park? Just don't forget allways rake towards the truck or chipper.

Homey don't rake

I vowed to my wife that I would never rake a leaf again in my lifetime. That's why my summer lawn job $$$ is getting saved up for the double bagger for my Snapper RER. Too bad Snapper stuff is so expensive. I will shell out $500 for the bagger set up which is what I paid for the whole mower in the first place.

But...homey don't rake.

Hello...my name is Bigus.

Hi Bigus!

And I too am a raking addict. There is no use in denial.

No one can do it good enough for my standards, no one can do it fast enough. I must get everything that I can to leave everywhere I go just so.

To me it is artwork that just obviously cannot be taught. It is a Gift!
One that I am truly thankful for.

I purchase only the finest rakes, for substandard rakes will not survive the day.

If when I come down there is any brush left. I will chuck the remnants at my groundies as if they were tomatoes towards a lame comic duet. The yard must be cleared immediately for my symphonic encore else I get twitchy and start the frothing. I must have my fix!

I even carry back-up rakes so that if one should fail me in my fury, I will not be robbed the opportunity to bring yet another glorious opus to its peak of sticks and leaves in all their wondrous shapes and sizes.

As the chipper’s roar wanes, and the rake’s put in her place, as the groundie shouts ‘all clear’ and the homeowners come out from behind their bushes, I am fulfilled.

I am sanctified. I am.....Triumphant!

Though it does me some good to get this off of my chest, I refuse to change.

Once a rakaholic….always a rakaholic. There is no going back now.

There is, of course, no known cure.

Rake, oh rake, for goodness sake!

There's more to life than dragging a rake.

Debox my Honda and give all the crap a mow.

Then out with the Stihl and blow, blow, blow.

Don't remove all the goodness, for what it's worth,

It all goes to nothing and feeds the earth.

This problem is not uncommon. The First Step is admitting we have a problem, Slvrmple72. Perhaps a call to Rakaholics' Anonymous is in order.

I carry my springy tine leaf rake in my truck even when we go camping.

We rake the needles and twigs in the site and use them for kindling - and we like a clean campsite area.

:)

Plus those springy tine metal rakes are great for cleanup in the winter when working in snow!

I'd have to agree, theres no such thing as too much raking.

What is everyones thoughts on brooms and scoop shovels? :)

A stump grinder I am I cannot stop
I am addicted to grinding instead of pot!

Chips are flying and a rock or two
I try not but when they break it's $10.80 a tooth!

This business is tough with low ballers a whoren'
A tall tree and short rope is what I have for em"

Diesel is high and so is gasoline
The oil companies "break us down like a shotgun" but with no vaseline!

I love stump grinding make no mistake
but not as much as Slvrmaple LOVES to rake!!!

I have a broom for walks and paved drives. I also use an aluminum grain scoop to get all the small stuff.

I leave places looking better than I found them. That's my creed.

I'll chuck downed limbs that were already there when I arrived. I figure I'm there with the means and it takes virtually no more time.

Similar to widow makers. I'm up top with the technology anyhow, might as well just reach out and save someone the hazard. :)
