I was finally getting the court in front of the house cleaned up yesterday. All I had left was to finish milling 2 or 3 slabs off the log I milled my side boards out of. I wanted to use the same log for the head board because the live edge and color matched. Put a new plug in the 1050 and it was running well. Got a couple feet into the log and the gap of the cut looked kind big. It was easier to lean over the log and look at the off side than move back. The off side looked fine. Cut a little more and the gap looked like it was growing. Darn, the nuts on the near side of the height adjustment were loose enough that it was diving. Had to take the mill off and pull the saw out. Marked the log at 18" and turned it into firewood. I have plenty more Oak. The thing that really made me mad was I have a big Black Walnut log set on my log stands, and I was milling this one flat on the ground, just to finish up. A lot of work for firewood. Sorry for the cell phone pic. It's the log out in the middle of the court. At least the court is getting clean, and I should get the Walnut milled up today. Try to get better pics of it. You can just see the Walnut behind the BB pole, with the red end showing, Joe.

Are you milling in a cul-da-sac? Or do you have the most awesome spot to turn around in before backing into the garage?
So jealous......no mud, no crap to kneel in, firm ground to jack logs up off the ground, and easy cleanup!!

I forgot to tighten bolts once on my mini mill(G#777), it made an erratic cut...but I don't have a smoke dragon, so it just became waste for me. It happens.....
