i have a 2006 Rayco 1635 Super Junior with the 35HP Briggs and Stratton motor.
it developed a very slow oil leak (early this spring i believe) in the part of the engine block thats facing me, with some bolts running sideways by it, and there appears to be a seam there.
about once a week i add a few ounces of oil, it doesnt drip on the customers yards or anything.
a friend suggested that maybe it has a 2-piece engine block ( aluminum )
and part of me is curious if a guy could give the bolts along that seam between the 2 engine block pieces a 1/4 turn or so to snug them up and put a little more pressure on the gasket between there?
i know it sounds lazy, but tearing down and rebuilding the otherwise perfect motor just for a VERY slow leak doesnt sound like much fun... since nothing ever seems to run the same after they get fixed!
i figure if the bolts are loose at all, it wouldnt take much torque to find out.
your thoughts?
