I'm looking to upgrade my Vermeer 352 to a possible Rayco 1645, is anyone using the Rayco 1645? Likes? Dislikes? How is the auto sweep?

Don't think that would be much of an upgrade.

And it's "Command Cut", not "Auto Sweep".

I know nothing about it but I just watched the demo video Rayco has on its site. I had painful flashbacks of my 1625. lol

I would love to have one, what is it about your 352 that you feel needs upgrading?

Most of my work is residential so I like the weight of the 352 1900 lbs. vs. 2500 lbs of the 1645, I really like the gearbox final drive on the 352 (no lower bearings to worry about). Advantages of the 1645 would be the 60 inch swing vs. the 40 inch on the 352. Also the increase power of 44 hp vs 34 on the 352. I would like to hear someone's opinion of the command cut system because I have always disconnected vermeer's autosweep. My closest Rayco dealer is about a 4 hour drive, and they will only bring in a 1645 if I'm ready to buy not just to demo.

I only know the Canadian pricing but both machines are pretty close, Vermeer 352 List 4x4, Diesel is around $35,000 CDN, Rayco is $36,000. And a RG50 Super (66hp) was $44,000.00 last year. Not sure what US pricing would be.
