I purchased a 1670 Rayco stump grinder with a 4 cylinder Duetz engine recently. This machine is mechanically sound(2,500 hours).I am curious about the maintenance/performance issues with direct drive.(belts.)My previous experiences have been with hydraulically driven wheels. What experiences do other AS members have with this machine?Do's/Don'ts?This grinder is meant to be a side gig for me through rentals to a few small tree services and my own jobs.Any accounts of what to expect with this machine are appreciated.Gary Schofield

When it comes time to replace belts look closley at the pulleys and if any doubt replace them as well,They can be a pain but you get all the power down to the cutting disc.

I prefer belts over hydro drive so much more grunt i have a 60hp rayco t/behind

The pulleys have just been replaced.Kind of a weird setup to release tension on the belts by pushing a little handle that moves the engine. Is that problematic.Or does it take getting used to?
