Hey, you guys got me thinkin, until about 6years ago I always used company saws. So I never had to deal w/performance issues. Now the saws are all mine, got a sad story maby, someone can clear this up and get me going.I bought a new 2065 jonny about 7yrs ago it still runs very well but...when i first had it and only about ten tanks in it started leaning way out on me on a very hot day. The saw did get hot so I stopped let it idle turned it off. After a day I maxed the high adj and continued use, not so hot day, the problem came back got worse over time, took it in, failure in fule line, sucking air, bad gas.(kinda pissed i broke my saw putin gas in it) I'm real careful about gas, non alcaholic I ask owner, mix 2.4xx in w/2.5 bottle/ rinse twice/ always check jug and rinse. Thing is it dosent have as much compresion, I feel while starting, not shure about the power cause ive had it so long still seams pretty dam good, i even started doing some ripping with it, but next to a 372xp it definetly falls short. Sooo... What NEXT Im thinkin, rings, muffler mod, to start
but im even thinking a 372 big bore kit, wont it fit? Should I rip the hell out of it first, and see how long it goes. And whats w/ power tuning. Thanks

muff mod

I would definetly do a muffler mod for a start. How many gallons of fuel have you ran through it? It shoildn't need new rings that fast.

I would stick with oem but it's up to you. If you can fit a bigger pstn and cyl than put on a 372 or 2171 rebuild kit or just rebuild it and keep it stock. Muffler modding is pretty popular around here but noise polution is a consideration.
