I'll just say that off the bat I wish I bought a rear mount over a forestry we never use the forestry now except to carry shovels. With a rear mount you can get a lot more out of your boom. If your going forestry and Gonna chip into get an over cdl I can guarantee you with a full load of chips it will weigh over 26k. My gmc forestry weighs 31-32k with an 11 foot southco body.

You are missing the point almost entirely.

For starters......you can have a chipper truck on the job site along with a Forestry bucket.

What do you do when your chipper truck is full of chips, the dump spot is some drive away, you've got 10 more minutes of chipping to do, and you have a rear mounted boom?

Oh yea what do you do when the chip truck breaks down?Wait to fix it or chip on the forestry truck? And why pay more insurance registration fuel oil maint etc!

There is a few ways of handling that but I suppose have a guy go dump while we do something else. My dump spot is 30 min or less from where we do most of our work.

View attachment 223108 My mini goes on almost every job. We use it to drag brush and load logs. If the 14' dump trailer is full we will load it on the flat bed on the bucket truck. The bucket pulls the dump trailer and chipper truck pulls the chipper. Thats my set up untill I buy a log loader.

It never seems very convenient to chip into a bucket. Gotta always move it to the back of the truck.

On another note if that's the only truck your gonna have that's the way to go. You can usually get a nice forestry theirs tuns. On tree trader.

Thanks! Im picking it up next week.

Ya your really gonna like it. I should have did a rear mount for my first bucket. We use the forestry for municipal work. The best Thing is your not working over your truck all day. Our crane with all the manual out has a working height of almost 100 feet and I tell you what it took me a long time to get use to that kind of movement in a boom. That puppy will move a few feet can get see sick after a while.

The builder of our k-boom is stoping up tomorrow a seven hour drive to make some videos. Their gonna hire a professional film crew To try and help promote the sale of it in tree care. Where gone use a couple buckets as filming points. Should be a fun day.

thats awesome, have fun shooting, post the vids, and then title them as "Extreme Precision something or another" hahahaha. I just found out my aunt helped with some of the production of the new 3D Stihl videos in Australia, sawdust coming out the screen type stuff. Have fun.

I didn't realize Harbor Freight had a film crew... I wonder if I can get them to come out and film me using their jack stands and floor jack... :msp_tongue:

Call me, we'll grab lunch. What day ya headin in?

Not sure yet, probably get there in the afternoon and go over everything on the truck. I will probably stay at the isle of capri. The rooms during the week are 30 bucks. I will call ya and let you know.

Cool, right by my house, can see the river from my back yard, not real good tho! There is a local joint called Ross's, right by the 74, good greasy American food. Presidents always go there when on the campaign trail, to get their mid western, ma and pop, small business photo op! Good chow. Open 24/7, trucker style place
