I'm thinking of building a log loading arch for loading logs onto my 16' equipment trailer. Can anyone recommend a 12V electric winch to use for actuating the arch? Logs would vary in size, but I wouldn't exceed 1200 lbs because that's all my loader can lift off the trailer once I get home. Most would be smaller than that. Thinking about the 9,000 lb badlands winch from HF, but I'm concerned about its 5% duty cycle rating. The only experience I have with winches is the cheap $50 winch on my ATV which has only been used to load it into the truck bed (when damaged), and to raise its snow plow. The winch needs to be able to stand up to the work load, but I don't want to spend 2x what I really need to on the right tool for the job. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
