went for a little drive yesterday. not as spectacular as some places but relaxing all the same. just don't get out there as much anymore. felt like helping out and thin some it out.:msp_wink:

THAT is a cool find. Wonder how long the machinery's been gone.

We still find those old relics from the steam age from time to time. I know where there are two old donkey sleds, big ones, sitting side by side and slowly rotting back into the ground. The heavy machinery is long gone but you can still see where the attach points were and that the ends of the logs were sniped with an ax. There's a few old bolts left and the hand hewn cross members are still more or less attached. Lots of cable pieces and broken blocks laying around...lots of old pieces of pipe and shingles with square nails still in them.

They kind of remind me of old shipwrecks cast ashore.

Supposedly there's a steam donkey at the bottom of the quarry/pond in the city park in Tenino, but the water is deep enough that I've never seen it. Used to swim there back in the day.
