Does anyone know much about these?

Looks to be very very clean. Just needing a wipedown. Missing the air filter bit. Has compression, haven't yet checked for spark. I imagine it should be a runner, appears it was never beat on. No rust or corossion that I could see in my looks at it.

I don't know much about the Remington or Mall name, are these a rare bird?

Dunno,

Never seen one before, but it sure looks cool, Remington/Mall eh?

I would like to hear more about it, Power Products engine?

Mike acres website has info on that saw under the remington header, I believe they were around 80cc. There was one of those Silvers on the NC CL a while back but I did not bother to mess with it due to the distance. There was also a Gold Logmaster that was up closer to 100cc. If no one beats me to it I will post a link to the Mike Acres info when I get back to my computer.

Johnnie,

I already pulled the info off of Acres, this saw should be 82cc if it is what I think it is. It's also listed on the Mall header.

I have never seen one, or heard it talked about before.

Had to pick it up because of it's condition and it being pretty darn cool.

Boy your lineup is getting bigger by the week. Are these starting to find you now?

Interesting things keep popping up around here. But then again I spend quite a bit of time looking around for them.

I have a feeler out here and there also, but I think the old saws all talk to one another.

I seem to recall that Remington bought Mall in 1956. I suspect that they utilized both names in order for people to know they were getting a Mall saw.

You know if you keep that old puppy, you are required to restore it completely. Since that is not possible you have to send it to me.:msp_tongue:

Congrats on the cool find.

If you would really restore it maybe we can work something out. I think it's a cool old saw, but don't have the means to do a proper resto on it.

I was thinking that myself. I looked at the whole Mall lineup on Acres, boy, they had some strange stuff

Those old ads are always really cool to see. Thank you
