Has anybody heard of these???

My parents are retiring to Myrtle Beach and while we were packing up their stuff, my dad gave me his old saw. It is an old Remeington Mighty Mite 34cc. I remember using it years ago. I think I cut more dirt with it than wood.

It has a 14" bar and in pretty good shape for how old it is. When I have a moment, i'll put some fresh fuel it and see how she does.

Are these things worth messing with? Or should I send it to the graveyard?

A Navy buddy had one of these in the early '80s. He bought it because it was cheap.

When we were out cutting blowdowns, he'd stare longingly at my Echo cs-315. Honest. Because, though his Remington would run well, the clutch was a total POS. It'd start slipping on hitting bark. Maybe he should have just welded it locked and taken his chances. ;)

I was not impressed by the design & manufacturing of the bits & the whole saw- looked like a rush-job. The Echo still runs just fine. :hmm3grin2orange:

Had a Mighty Mite Bantam. 10" bar with 1/4" chain. Rsn great but couldn't find a clutch drum so it got scrapped
