I own an old Remington saw that was my fathers, it was with him the day he was killed in a timber accident in 1974. I have it running again but need to find a bar and chain for it to cut with it safely. It is a need old saw that holds a lot of sentimental value for me.
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find a bar and chain that will work on it. I don`t need Remington parts just something that will work safely, I am having trouble finding a database that even lists the saw, if someone could tell me what Homelite named that particular model that would probably help too.
I believe the saw is a 73 or 74. Thank you for your time and help. I am sorry if this issue has been covered, I did use the search funtion first and could not find the information I needed but did see a saw very similar for sale by a member from Canada.

Hey john, I have a remington pl-6 myself. Your saw is a 94cc horse. It runs regular .404 chain and was rated to pull a 41" bar. My pl6 has a pretty standard bar pattern. If you look you can probably match up another bar pretty easy. I have a stihl rollamatic on mine, and all I had to do was widen the adjuster hole. Good luck with that beast.:biggrinbounce2:

Thank you for your help, I think the Stihl bar with a slight modification sounds like the ticket.

I see a Remington SL11 on ebay now I thought about bidding on- Item number: 220028595970. Its missing the air filter cover. Did Homelite make this saw or will Homelite parts work on it? If so what Homelite cover will fit this saw?
