I have been doing a lot of small side jobs(because i have a small truck), But I have a big Euc. removal I may be able to get. Its a monster!
Well its not going to fit in my ranger thats for sure. I can rent a 40 yd dumpster for 400 dollars, and have a wood rat that'll take most the wood. I'm liking the dumpster idea. Anyone ever try to run a buisness using rented dumpsters?

I've never rented one, but I've had several customers do so and have it there for me. Especially after the ice storm we had up here in December of 2007. I'm still getting cleanup jobs from that storm.

Yes. I used to rent them all the time for large trees. I used to be able to get a 30 yard dumpster for a little over $90 bucks. This was about 10 years ago so I have no idea what they are going for now. I've got a friend in construction that is getting a 40 yard for $200 something now. I can't remember what he said.

Anyway, roofers and various other construction trades use them all the time. No reason a tree operation can't do it as well. I used to rent the 30 yard dumpster as well as a bobcat (which I also got for a song) all the time on the big ones. Worked out great for me back then. Not sure how cost effective it would be in today's world.

I've used them for whole tree removal, chip into the far end and load wood near the door.

I've also used them on projects where there was lots of wood to remove from several trees and we just loaded them with a bobcat, both through the door and over the side. Its not the most efficient use of the space, but quick to load.

Just factor the cost into your bid.

I rented a 40 yard dumpster about ten years ago for $400. I used it do do a small clearing job to get rid of small trees, brush, and stumps. It worked out well with a backhoe on the job.

I would think the price would be higher today.

Wow, those prices are outrageous. Although, from what I have seen, prices on everything is pretty outrageous in the Northeast.

Had this conversation yesterday with a dumpster co. 200 bucks delivered and picked up out of Saugus MA.

Yeah those prices are outrageous, but commonplace around here. Wonder if the renters are still paying a Soprano tax. :D
