Every few months, I always I get a hydraulic hose that either leaks or bursts open. Any suggestions to prevent this from happening so often? Also, I would appreciate it if someone walked me through changing a hose, especially the ones that go into the cutter wheel of a Rayco Super RG 50. I usually bring it into a repair shop.

Use a higher grade hose. Hoses should not be giving out so quick.
Changing hoses is easy enough. Clean the area real well so dust doesn't get into the system and use the right size wrenches.

I agree with all of the above, and will add "Don't use Teflon tape!" You might try getting hoses made by a true Hydraulic shop and not just 'any old place' with a crimping machine.
