I have an MS260 that I put a new jug and piston on. A few months ago I tried it out and it ran good but after the first day it would die when I put a load on it. I posted here and came to the conclusion that I probably tore the intake manifold/hose when I installed the jug. I ordered a new one from Curt and am ready to put it on.

I've read through the service manual but if you guys have some tips on how to do this I would appreciate it. I've seen some threads where Andy and others had a string looped around the carb end but not sure what to do with that string. Anyway, help and/or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Put the manifold on the cylinder end, loop the string around the carb end, pass it it though the tank hole and pull gently...

It's easier oif you take the screw off the tank AV mounts and pull the tank and engine apart slightly.

Thanks Lake. I swapped it out last night and it went smooth. (Except for losing one of the bolts for the muffler :bang: .....it's out in the garage somewhere.......)

Anyway, tried it out on a few logs in the backyard this evening and it ran good again. Hope it keeps running good. It will get a good workout this weekend when I head to the woods. Thanks again!
