Just wondering after you guys rebuild a carb (stihl pro model), the book says to screw all three jets in until lightly seated and then back off 1 turn for the H and L. It doesn't say anything about the idle adjust.

How do you adjust carbs after a rebuild back from scratch?

How many turns out or where do you put them?

Thanks

Tom

I do not set idle screw till it runs OK.
get it to start first se to that it is rather rich than lean.
If you don't know at all, have someone help you the first times.
Mistakes can be expensive.

Usually I just leave the T screw where it's at. If you do move it, bring the screw in until it hits the throttle shaft, then another 1 1/2 - 2 turns will get you started.

If the L screw is properly set, you shouldnt have to adjust the T screw.

most of the time I just leave all the screws alone until I've started the unit, then I determine whether it needs adjustment or not.

just about everything needs the T screw adjusted. I just turn the H and L out 1 1/2 turns and go from there. usually turn my idle screw way up then back it off as i go.
