Found a returned Husky 350 at Lowes. It had a repair slip that stated "Would'nt start, bad gas". Manager said I could have it for $225 with a 30 day return. What do guys think? Try to hold him for $200 or pass. Looked brand new.
Well I went back to Lowes today and they were having a "yard sale", trying to get rid of old stock. The returned Husky 350 was sitting there right were I left it last time. I talked to the general manager and got it for $175. I think I caught if perfect as Lowes was obviously trying to reduce old/used inventory for year end. Pulled the muffler when I got home and the bore/piston was perfect-brand new. Work order said "won't start" and the reply was "stale gas, runs perfect" So I am guessing the original owner never had a chance to damage it because he could'nt get it sarted. I fired it up and started in two pulls - runs perfect. The cashier said this was the deal of the week and I agree.
We have one for sale in the paper this week brand new with a 20 inch bar for $225.00. What do they cost new? That is a good deal saw jo for $175.00. Our lowes has these low discounts they take off like 10% if it is used and returned. I would rather pay the extra $30.00 and buy it new for that price. I tryed to get one of their returned troy bilt splitters it was in As is condition and had rust all over it and they said best they would do was $1150.00 instead if $1300.oo. I asked if I could start it or check the compression and he said no I couldn't. Great customer service.
