All the talk in the world won't suffice as far as getting a real feel for how chainsaws really feel. I took the first step toward buying a new saw by visiting a Husky dealer. He had a large inventory, gladly let me go in and heft all the saws.
Formerly, I had considered a 357xp, but no longer. To this tall and rangy cutter, this saw feels too rear heavy with the 18" bar. For its cubes, to me it feels lousy. Each to his own. Many of the other saws like the 362 felt far better than the '57. Boy, oh boy, am I glad I got to feel them before I filled them with oil and gas. It saved me from a purchase that most likely would have ended with me putting the young pup up for adoption right quick! I would hope that all would-be purchasers would really take the time to get as familiar with the new arrivals as possible. Like, really familiar...
