Hey everybody spring has sprung, time for some ribs to help forget about the snow and cold of the past winter.
What's better that smoked ribs and Iron, milling I guess putting them together So Ribarn.
Not sure of what you like to drink so BYOB.
If your not busy Sunday 4/27/14 drop by for some ribs and a informal get together to discuss/work on the projects we thought up while stuck inside watching it snow.
Ribs are to be ready approx. 2:00 and we will be around all day working with whatever interesting thing you bring along.
One of the events besides ribs will be milling a log or two with the Alaskan mill.
Sqneck dropped off an 30" Osage orange log and I have a box elder that looks to be spalted with lots of red streaks inside so we have something to demonstrate on.
If you have a log you need to get down to a manageable size bring it along and we'll see what we can do.
If you have something that needs welded up bring it and we'll get you fixed up.
I have a small mig welder, stick welder, band saw etc..
I like hand tools but they don't sharpen themselves.
I was also hoping someone would volunteer to help sharpen up my honing skills and all things sharpening related.
If we get time I would like to work on some curved spline glue ups or turn some Celtic knot pens.
I hope to have a project or two going on in the shop.

I'm about 5 miles from I-270 NE side of Columbus Ohio , New Albany zip 43054
Drop me a line if you can make it so I can give you directions etc..
Drop in for a bit or hang for a while.

Update:
The weather looks good for tomorrow high of 66 partly sunny.
We have several logs to mill up a hedge apple, box elder, pear, and several ash and pine logs if we get to them.

Too many miles for me, but thanks for the invite. If you find yourself in Missouri, drop me a line!

The GTG was pretty fun.
We were able to eat a few ribs and mill a few logs.
No pics of that, I was too hungry to stop and take a photo.
Here is the first cut in the box elder I really liked that.

Here is the first cut in the hedge apple. It had some ant damage in the center but it was so big there was plenty of good stuff.

Nice! Hedge isn't so bad if it is fresh cut and you have a sharp chain. Hard to find straight, solid pieces.
