When fitting a new rim sprocket onto a saw with a outboard style drum/clutch ie: 346xp/357xp, is it best to install the rim sprocket with the slots facing the crankcase? or Is it best install the rim sprocket with the slots facing the clutch drum.

On saws with inboard style drum/clutch ie: 371xp/372xp saws , I install the rim sprocket so the slots face away from the drum/clutch.

Thanks,

Nick
