Did a search first and couldn't find anything here, at Madsen's or at the Oregon sites so I figure you guys must know the answer.

I have a 3120xp set up with 3/8 pitch and have been running .050 gauge bar and chain.

I was looking at some of the longer bars 36"+ and they seem to only come in the larger .063 gauge. Assuming the pitch stays at 3/8 and I run the 75lg(.063) chain do I have any issues to contend with in regard to the rim sprocket. Do I need a different one or will it run the bigger gauge?

Thanks for helping.:)

I wish they would have standardized gauges a long time ago. I can't see the reason for the existance of more than, .043,for narrow curf mini, 050. for 3/8 low pro, .325 and standard 3/8, and .063 for large chassis chain.

How did things get to be such a non standardized mess?
