My first ripping chain. Baileys RIP 50 30RP Low Profile, Baileys reccommends this chain for bars under 32". Just to experiment, I cut a couple of slabs out of some short blocks. A hickory block, about 14" long, set up on a stump. Not anchored, just the 357 w/the chain. Eased into the block and then just let her rip. Had to ease up a cuple of times to get the block up out of the dogs, but basically, it cut right on thru. Very fine cut, You could see where the block chattered abit coming in and going out. Really smooth though, alot smoother than I would have gussed. I bought this chain to make some chairs out of. Just to rip the chair back. It makes a pretty nice cut, I was suprised. Anybody have experience?

Is this the 50ga., .370 pitch lo pro? I bought a loop of that before they started selling it as ripping chain. Ground it 10deg. across top. I had it on a Husky 2100 with a 32" bar. It cut fast and smooth but it really dug grooves into the bar and I didn't use it that much. Maybe chain too tight? Too loose? Not enough lube? I sold the saw so I don't know.
