I was digging up an old acatia tree this summer, and there the new toe ripper on the 1 ton mini ex. I was digging away and while digging up I noticed one long root was off to my side, I reached for it at about 45* from straight on, when I applied power the mini ex twisted and jumped sideway, threw me right off. Did not see it coming it happened so quickly. There is no holding brakes on mini excavator swing mechanism. I luckily tucked and rolled as I hit the ground and the overhead protection was off so I would have been clear anyways, but the machine steadied itself instead of rolling. Wow it was painful I probably should have seen a doctor, but not the first time a tree won, against me and my atv last time, so I just had a few rim and cokes to celebrate... Learning lesson, my 20 ton excavator didn't take no from trees
