Root Removal - Help needed

Anyone have any strategies to suggest for removing root balls in situations where a truck cannot assist?

Cut them into smaller chunks... Hard work, but if its the only option, its the only option. Other thing you could try is a Lewis winch hooked to another tree close by, but they only have so much power.

Can you give us more information?? Is it a tree or a stump? Is it in the ground, or out of the ground? Are you trying to move a tree with the root ball? How big is it? What is it??

Heres how we got out a tricky one, this is after we broke it up into sub 600kg bits using axes, jack, crowbars, wedges and alot of sweat.
