Pulled this off of a yardworks weed whacker. I've seen butterfly valve and slide carbs before, but never one like this on anything. Interesting design, the drum moves upward as it rotates to expose more of the fuel Inlet pipe. This one is flooding, as soon as the tank pressurizes fuel pours out of the pipe, so I've pulled it apart. Anyone else come across these?

Fantastic carbys. Besides the normal wear items, the common issue is the plastic barrels wearing allowing for unmetered air through.

In terms of metering and fuel supply throughout their rev range, they’re far superior to butterfly type carbs.

Stick a Chinese carby kit in - “k10 WAT” or “k20 WAT” for a dollar a kit and it’ll likely run just fine.

Re tuning, the fixed jets in them are generally very good. You can swap low and high altitude jets out or just use a thumb drill one size bigger.

They can be easily soldered closed and drilled to a smaller size too.

Their downside is the footprint in larger configurations. That’s why you don’t see them in +50cc machines.

$10.00 china carb kit, half hours to take it apart and "clean and re build" = not worth it. The carbs are $14.00 shipped to your door. Messing with drilling jets out is even less worth it.
OP - $1.70, free shipping and 5 mins to fit. Arboristsite use to be a place where people repaired things and taught useful knowledge… now it’s just a parts swapping paradise. IMG_0020.jpeg

Lucky you. Cheapest I could find.

Still not worth the time invested. In the time it takes to take the cover screws off a new cab can be on and off you go.

Well, it's getting junked, this one is nonadjustable and replacement ones are cheap, so it's not worth working on.
Just trying to make sure on this for ya.

Mine on a echo is shown H needle part 10 hidden behind plug epa cap part number 9.
