New to the forum, and I have some questions. I am in WNY and own a post and beam house that needs to be resided. I bought beveled rough cut larch, and I am in the process of stickering it (with 3/8 hemlock stickers) to let it dry for three weeks in my barn prior to hanging as I was advised by the amish mill owner. Her are my questions:
1. what type of nails should i use to hang the siding (the old siding is a T-111 type from the 70's) so they dont stain the lumber, and what size.(plan on using a nail gun) since i will be clear coating/staining the siding.
2. how much overlap, the sticks are 7 1/2, was planning on 1" or 1 1/2 " overlap.
2. What recommendations of stain to use, i want to clear stain it, as i know it will get darker over time.
thanks
