ou cannot tune a ported saw to any fixed number. It's a whole different animal. It will have to be tuned by ear and/or timed cuts. My 460 runs best at 15,000 turning an 8-pin sprocket on a 28" bar.
I have no problem tuning my ported saws by using a tach. In fact i find it nearly impossible to tune certain ported saws by ear.
 
15,800 is very high for a mid sized work saw, I dont know if you would gain enough in that extra 1000 RPM to be worth what it will do to engine life. Your saw, your call.

yeah i backed it down after the first cut. its now at 13600 or so. didnt affect the cutting at all. still cut great and i dont get that pucker effect when i run it ha ha.
