We called it working in Timber. Little did I know that my life would be extended for years as I packed tree marking paint, tools, water, and......lunch/snacks around in the woods. Why do it for free? I got paid to skip around in the woods all day with a vest full of stuff. The good thing was the load became lighter as the day went on.

"The fitness expert adds: 'Starting too heavy too soon can lead to discomfort or even serious issues with your knees, hips, and ankles.'"
Fourth paragraph from the end.

When I was active duty USAF doing Army Support, we rucked approximately once a week (sometimes twice) 5 - 8 miles each time. Members new to the unit started off with nothing but a CamelBak of water and gradually worked up to "full battle rattle" (~40 lbs) plus 50 - 75 lbs ruck sack.

The military doctor I had said that he wished we didn't do the rucking due to the later injuries to the back, knees, hips, and ankles. I get disability for all but the ankles.
