I grabbed the above named saw from the dump ("transfer station") on Monday night. First one I've seen and it looks to be in decent shape. I believe its an older one, it has a black handle and mag fuel tank and cases.
Got into it a little last night, removed muffler and the piston and bore are perfect :blob2: . It has 155 lbs of compression and nothing is broken or missing. The down side, no spark. I have not checked switch wiring yet and I am assuming it uses points and condensor. Is this a decent machine to clean up and get running? Are the ignition parts available? I also noticed the fuel line runs from tank to a white platstic block under the trigger linkage and then to the carb - is this a inline filter? Please weigh in on wether this is a good mini project candidate.
Thanks.

Compression is good, Spark first unhook the switch and also look for a skinned wire from the switch to the ign module. Is this a plain 120 or a 120 super?? If it is the under flywheel BOSCH ignition those parts are NLA. But a SEM ign assy can be fitted to it. The white fitting in the top of the tank is a fitting not a fuel filter. The fuel filter is hanging on the end of the fuel line. The white fitting is a junction block for the inside fuel line and the outside fuel line as well as a barb for the fuel tank vent line.

Thanks Scott,

It is the regular 120, not the super. I will pull the flywheel tonite and have a look. Did you say the ignition can be replaced with the Nova type modules?

Personally I never really used the aftermarket fix all ign. modules, kinda tight to fit one under that bosch flywheel. I have the SEM ignition assemblys in stock if you want to convert it over also as a bonus the SEM uses a Aluminum flywheel instead if the Steel one that Bosch had so it makes the saw LIGHTER..
