I think a pair of good suspenders is what I need. If I would drop about 10 pounds...I probly wouldnt need them much.
Hanging on my life line everythings good, but standing with no load on the ropes the saddle wants to start creeping down.....you know what I mean.
I like and use a master 2.
Are you using suspenders ?
What kind ?

Or are they bulky and uncomfortable in the way and ended up thrown under the work bench or in the corner.

David, I'm a buttless wonder. My Ness has the Ness saddle sash and my Master II has a set of suspenders I made myself. Before I had a gut I still had trouble keeping my saddle up-I won't go back to the days without suspenders.

A gal that I used to go out with made the comment to me at a Tree Climbing Comp that none of the climbers had butts. I asked if that was OK, she got a dreamy look in her eye and said "Yes!"

I own the master II also. I freakin hate it! I know what you mean about it falling down when ain't hanging by your line. I had to use suspenders in the winter. No way to snug those stupid friction buckles enough over some snivel gear. The suspenders really limited mobility, and I found them uncomfortable, but they did keep the saddle on my hips. I recently ordered a floating dee with a grommeted buckle. My advice is just sh!tcan the master.

I've been using suspenders with my saddle for the past several years. No mobility problems to speak of, or adjustment problems. I roughly adjusted them the first time I used them, and now I just put them on and am done with it. If I was just climbing with a handsaw or something like that I wouldn't use them, but when I start hanging saws off my belt they really come in handy. Can't even feel them, but I know that they are doing their job.

I don't ever have a problem. I must be the odd-ball 'cause I got plenty of "counter balance" ;) as I like to call it, my ness never falls down.
