Would you recommend a safety line that would be in place higher than a hunting stand(bow)? I don't know knots at all but have seen a line that is used as a fall protector and used to go up and down. I use a climbing stand and web harness. If something goes bad,I carry a knife to cut the webbing. The lesser of two evils seems to fall rather than hang without a way down. Thanks in advance .Be safe,Be blessed.

some of the new fall arrest harnesses for hunting are pretty decent. I think it is conceivable to set up an SRT line when you set up your stand and tie in with an ascender or maybe a figure 8 for safety reasons. It would make you a ton safer. You would have to make sure you do some research and are very comfortable with the system before you depend on it as a life line. But your in the right spot for it... Well actually a arborist 101 or rec climbing forum may have been better but I am sure you can find what you need here.

Let me be the first to suggest the Tree Climbers Companion you can get it off one of the sponsor sites above for around $15 good luck be safe
