Just because its Friday doesn't mean its the weekend yet. Keep your mind on the work and don't rush it in an attempt to shut down early.

Work with a clear head. A hung-over or stoned coworker is a hazard.

Warm up and focus before taking on a job, by stretching and breathing exercises. this avoids injuries and improves decisions through better perspective.

dont let the brush pile up. keep your footing clear. makesure the drag path and work zone remain free of debris as muc as possible. always try to maintain order on the jobsite. from keeping the tools accesible and ready to go (including and especially keep ing the climber's lines seperate, uncovered and untangled), to knowing what is gonna happen next. always have the next step (or two, or three) mapped out in advance.

How about tree rescue? Do you guys go over what to do if a climber is hurt and needs to be rescued? This is a great thread. I like to hear other ideas of safety.

Make sure your help will not be bashfull......and speak up firmly to tell spectators to stay back at a safe distance.

Most children do not know that orange safety cones are marking your work zone. I've had kids try to ride there bikes right through a work zone.

Dont be bashfull when it comes to safety....SPEAK UP.

Ask if customers have children, I ask them to keep them in the house.

I do have safety meetings.

Communication. Clearly explained instructions that are understood. The entire day should be continually assessed for hazard. :umpkin:

How about instead of tying knots, hows about UNtying them. I hate hanging in a tree, watching a groundie trying to push the tail of a running bowline through the knot, without pushing the loop over first to loosen it

Tell the crew to communicate hazards to the rest of the crew if they spot one, such as a hole in the ground in tall grass that cannot easily be seen. I almost tripped on such a hole once and the guy workin with me just laughed and said "I almost fell from the same hole!"
